WHAT'S THE CONCEPT

Welcome to my Capstone Project! My name is Ryann and I am graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Individualized Study.

I decided to create this platform for my capstone after years of wanting to make an art magazine. I was inspired by many other great art and culture magazines, and wanted to make something similar here in Rochester. I remember as a kid reading them and then seeing ads for art exhibits and events in other places like Los Angeles that I would never be able to attend or see. This inspired me to try and make something local that could bring more attention to the art scene in Rochester.

I’ve been making art for years in all sorts of different mediums, but I’ve never really called myself an artist. I’ve taken art classes here and there over the years, but it’s never been something I studied seriously. You can read more about my art journey here.

So far this is a solo project, but in the future I would love to collaborate with other people to grow the project and its scope. Thank you to my family and friends and capstone advisor Michael Stern for all of the support and encouragement they’ve provided.
